Overview
The City of Calgary commissioned a large-scale illustration to be featured on a 10’ wide by 8’ high booth banner as part of their public engagement efforts around climate resilience and environmental sustainability. The goal was to visually convey the city’s ongoing initiatives and future vision in climate action, through an accessible, engaging, and inclusive artistic representation.
Creative Approach
To communicate Calgary’s commitment to climate resilience and showcase clean energy solutions, sustainable urban infrastructure, and inclusive mobility, the illustration was designed as a multidimensional, multi-scene urban landscape. It unified key elements—sustainable infrastructure, inclusive transportation, human-centred, and environmental—into one cohesive and optimistic visual. The design also reflected the city’s rich social diversity in an accessible and relatable way, making the message of climate action approachable and engaging for all audiences.
