Calgary Transit
EDIB Report

Client: The City of Calgary
Department: Calgary Transit
Scope:
Illustration, design, infographic design
Role:
Illustrator and Designer

Challenge

Calgary Transit was developing its Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging (EDIB) strategy. They needed a comprehensive report that would communicate this important initiative across the organization in a way that felt approachable and engaging, as well as a concise one-pager for broader public audiences.

Approach

My role was to design and illustrate both the full report and the one-pager. The goal was to ensure the strategy came to life visually, with clear graphics and illustrations that made the content easier to understand for diverse audiences.

I created a custom cover illustration that highlighted equity and diversity as the central theme. I then designed the full report layout, incorporating custom infographics and visuals to simplify complex information. To complement the report, I designed a one-pager that distilled the key elements of the strategy into a clean, accessible format—while directing readers to the full document if they wanted more detail.

Outcome

The final deliverables provided Calgary Transit with a professional, visually compelling report and one-pager. The illustrations and infographics improved accessibility and engagement, making the EDIB strategy more approachable and easier to communicate across the organization and to the public.

“On behalf of the transit team, thank you Crystal for your exceptional work.

Not only did you provide all the proofs and final product on time (and sometimes the proofs came before timelines), but your thoughtful design and creativity exceeded everyone’s expectations.

Thank you, thank you, thank you! I look forward to working with you again!”
