Role:
Illustrator and Designer

Challenge

The City of Calgary needed to provide practical resources to help Calgarians—particularly those with limited disposable income—reduce their household energy costs. The goal was to create simple, visually appealing, and easy-to-read tip sheets that could be shared online, and at events.

Approach

I was responsible for illustrating and designing two versions of the tip sheets: one tailored for people living in apartments and one for those living in houses. The challenge was to ensure the content was accessible, plain-language, and engaging, while communicating cost-saving strategies clearly.

I developed the visual design and illustrations for both tip sheets, applying a clean, approachable layout that made the information easy to understand. I ensured the design aligned with the City’s accessibility and branding standards, while also making the content feel friendly and useful to a broad audience.

Outcome

The completed tip sheets provided Calgarians with practical, inexpensive energy-saving solutions in a format that was both clear and inviting. They are now distributed at community events, and shared online—helping the City build awareness and support for sustainable energy practices.
